About Koneko Hanga
Graduating from Leeds College of Art (now known as Leeds University) in 2013, Kitty - KonekoHanga (Kitten Wood-Print) began to pursue a journey into Mokuhanga (Japanese Woodblock Printing).
Though her background was primarily illustration and watercolour painting it felt a natural progression for her work.
Using various resources including Dave Bull of Mokuhankan and Laura Boswell's book "Making Japanese Woodblock Prints" and her incredible YouTube Woodblock series to name just a few, Kitty began building the foundation for creating her own prints.
Though this is very much the beginning of a long process, KonekoHanga aims to keep the integrity of Mokuhanga by using as many traditional methods and materials as possible.
